1:4 4 and pacience hath a perfit werk, that ye be perfit and hole, and faile in no thing. 4 and let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and sound, that nothing be lacking unto you. 4 and let pacience have her parfect worke that ye maye be parfecte and sounde lackinge nothinge. 4 and let pacience haue her parfect worke, yt ye maye be parfecte aud sounde, lakinge nothinge. 4 And let patience haue her perfect worke, that ye may be perfect and entier, lacking nothing. 4 And let patience haue [her] perfect worke, that ye may be perfect & sounde, lackyng nothyng.  4 But let patience haue her perfect worke, that ye may be perfect, and entier, wanting nothing.

1:6 6 But axe he in feith, and doute no thing; for he that doutith, is lijk to a wawe of the see, which is moued and borun a boute of wynde. 6 but let him ask in faith, and waver not. For he that doubteth is like the waves of the sea, tossed of the wind, and carried with violence. 6 But let him axe in fayth and waver not. 1:7 7 Therfor gesse not the ilke man, that he schal take ony thing of the Lord. 7 Neither let that man think that he shall receive any thing of the God. 7 Nether let that man thinke that he shall receave eny thinge of the Lorde. 7 Nether let yt man thinke that he shal receaue eny thige of ye LORDE. 7 Neither let that man thinke that hee shall receiue any thing of the Lord. 7 Neither let that man thynke that he shall receaue any thyng of the Lorde.  7 For let not that man thinke that he shall receiue any thing of the Lord.
1:8 8 A man dowble in soule is vnstable in alle hise weies. 8 A wavering minded man is unstable in all his ways. 8 A waveringe mynded man is vnstable in all his wayes. 8 A wauerynge mynded ma ys vnstable in all his waies. 8 A double minded man is vnstable in all his waies. 8 A double mynded man, [is] vnstable in all his wayes.  8 A double minded man is vnstable in all his wayes.
1:9 9 And a meke brother haue glorie in his enhaunsyng, 9 ¶ Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted, 9 Let the brother of lowe degre reioyce in yt he is exalted 9 Let the brother of lowe degre reioyce, in yt he is exalted: 9 Let the brother of lowe degree reioyce in that he is exalted: 9 Let the brother of lowe degree, reioyce in that he is exalted:  9 Let the brother of low degree, reioyce in that he is exalted: {rejoice: or, glory}
1:10 10 and a riche man in his lownesse; for as the flour of gras he schal passe. 10 and the rich in that he is made low. For even as the flower of the grass shall he vanish away. 10 and the ryche in that he is made lowe. For eve as ye flower of the grasse shall he vanysshe awaye. 10 and the rich, in yt he is made lowe. For eue as the flor of ye grasse shal he vanyshe awaye. 10 Againe hee that is rich, in that hee is made lowe: for as the flower of the grasse, shall he vanish away. 10 Agayne, the riche, in that he is made lowe: Because as the flowre of the grasse he shall passe away.  10 But the rich, in that hee is made low: because as the floure of the grasse he shall passe away.

1:13 13 No man whanne he is temptid, seie, that he is temptid of God; for whi God is not a temptere of yuele thingis, for he temptith no man. 13 ¶ Let no man say when he is tempted that he is tempted of God: for God tempteth not unto evil: he tempteth no man: 13 Let no man saye when he is tepted that he is tempted of God. For God tepteth not vnto evyll nether tepteth he anie ma. 13 Let no man saye when he is tempted, yt he is tempted of God. 1:26 26 And if ony man gessith hym silf to be religiouse, and refreyneth not his tunge, but disseyueth his herte, the religioun of him is veyn. 26 ¶ If any man among you seem devout, and refrain not his tongue: but deceive his own heart, this man's devotion is in vain. 26 Yf eny man amonge you seme devoute and refrayne not his tonge: but deceave his awne herte this mannes devocion is in vayne 26 Yf eny man amonge you seme deuoute, & refrayne not his toge: but deceaue his awne herte, this mannes deuocion is in vayne. 26 If any man amog you seeme religious, and refraineth not his tongue, but deceiueth his owne heart, this mans religion is vaine. 26 If any man among you seeme to be deuout, and refrayneth not his tongue, but deceaueth his owne heart, this mans deuotion is vayne.  26 If any man among you seeme to be religious, & bridleth not his tongue, but deceiueth his owne heart, this mans religion is vaine.

2:1 1 Mi britheren, nyle ye haue the feith of oure Lord Jhesu Crist of glorie, in accepcioun of persoones. 1 ¶ Brethren have not the faith of our lord Iesus Christ the lord of glory in respect of persons. 1 Brethren have not the fayth of oure lorde Iesus Christ the lorde of glory in respecte of persons. 1 Brethren, haue not the faith of oure LORDE Iesus Christ ye LORDE of glory in respecte of persons. 1 My brethren, haue not the faith of our glorious Lord Iesus Christ in respect of persons. 1 My brethren, haue not the fayth of our Lorde Iesus Christe, the Lord of glorie, with respect of persons.  1 My brethren, haue not the faith of our Lord Iesus Christ the Lord of glorie, with respect of persons.
2:2 2 For if a man `that hath a goldun ring, and in a feire clothing, cometh in youre cumpany, and a pore man entrith in a foul clothing, 2 If there come into your company a man with a golden ring, and in goodly apparel and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment, 2 Yf ther come into youre company a man with a golden rynge and in goodly aparell and ther come in also a poore man in vyle rayment 2 Yf ther come in to yor copany a ma wt a golde rynge and in goodly aparell, & ther come in also a poore man in vyle raymet, 2 For if there come into your company a man with a golde ring, and in goodly apparell, and there come in also a poore man in vile raiment, 2 For yf there come into your companie a man wearing a golde ryng, clothed in goodly apparell, and there come in also a poore man in vile rayment:  2 For if there come vnto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poore man, in vile raiment: {assembly: Gr. synagogue}
2:3 3 and if ye biholden in to hym that is clothid with clere clothing, and if ye seie to hym, Sitte thou here wel; but to the pore man ye seien, Stonde thou there, ethir sitte vndur the stool of my feet; whether ye demen not anentis you silf, 3 and ye have a respect to him that weareth the gay clothing and say unto him: Sit thou here in a good place: and say unto the poor, stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool: 3 and ye have a respecte to him that weareth the gaye clothynge and saye vnto him. 2:4 4 and ben maad domesmen of wickid thouytis? 4 are ye not even partial in your selves, and have judged after evil thoughts? 4 are ye not parciall in youre selves and have iudged after evyll thoughtes? 4 are ye not parciall in youre selues, and haue iudged after euyll thoughtes? 4 Are yee not partiall in your selues, and are become iudges of euill thoughts? 4 Are ye not partiall in your selues, and are made iudges of euyll thoughtes?  4 Are yee not then partiall in your selues, and are become iudges of euill thoughts?
2:5 5 Heere ye, my moost dereworthe britheren, whethir God chees not pore men in this world, riche in feith, and eiris of the kyngdom, that God bihiyte to men that louen him? 5 ¶ Hearken my dear beloved brethren, hath not God chosen the poor of this world, which are rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom, which he promised to them that love him? 5 Harken my deare beloved brethren. Hath not God chosen the poore of this worlde which are ryche in fayth and heyres of the kyngdom which he promysed to them that love him? 5 Harken my deare beloued brethre. 3:13 13 Who is wijs, and tauyt among you? schewe he of good lyuyng his worching, in myldenesse of his wisdom. 13 Who is wise and endued with learning among you? 4:5 5 Whether ye gessen, that the scripture seith veynli, The spirit that dwellith in you, coueitith to enuye? 5 Do ye suppose that the scripture saith in vain: The spirit that dwelleth in you, lusteth even contrary to envy: 5 Ether do ye thinke that the scripture sayth in vayne The sprite that dwelleth in you lusteth eve contrary to envie: 5 Ether do ye thinke yt the scripture sayth in vayne. The sprete yt dwelleth in you, lusteth euen contrary to enuie: 5 Doe ye thinke that the Scripture sayeth in vaine, The spirit that dwelleth in vs, lusteth after enuie? 5 Either do ye thynke that the scripture sayth in vayne, the spirite that dwelleth in vs, lusteth after enuie?  5 Doe ye thinke that the Scripture saith in vaine, the spirit that dwelleth in vs lusteth to enuy? {to envy: or, enviously}
