2:1	1 Mi litle sones, Y write to you these thingis, that ye synnen not. But if ony man synneth, we han an aduocat anentis the fadir,	1 ¶ My little children, these things write i unto you, that ye should not sin: and if any man sin, yet we have an advocate with the father, Iesus Christ, which is righteous:	1 My lytell children these thynges write I vnto you that ye synne not: yf eny man synne yet we have an advocate with ye father Iesus Christ which is righteous:	1 My litle children, these thinges wryte I vnto you, that ye shulde not synne: and yf eny man synne, we haue an aduocate with the father, euen Iesus Christ which is righteous:	1 My little children, these things write I vnto you, that ye sinne not: and if any man sinne, wee haue an Aduocate with the Father, Iesus Christ, the Iust.	1 My litle chyldren, these thynges write I vnto you, that ye sinne not. And yf any man sinne, we haue an aduocate with the father, Iesus Christe the ryghteous.	1 My little children, these things write I vnto you, that ye sinne not. And if any man sinne, we haue an Aduocate with the Father, Iesus Christ the righteous:
2:2	2 Jhesu Crist, and he is the foryyuenes for oure synnes; and not oneli for oure synnes, but also for the synnes of al the world.	2 and he it is that obtaineth grace for our sins: not for our sins only: but also for the sins of all the world.	2 and he it is that obteyneth grace for oure synnes: not for oure synnes only: but also for the synnes of all the worlde.	2 and he it is that optayneth grace for oure synnes: not for oure synnes onely, but also for the synnes of all the worlde.	2 And he is the reconciliation for our sinnes: and not for ours onely, but also for the sinnes of the whole world.	2 And he is ye attonement for our sinnes: not for our sinnes only, but also for the sinnes of all the worlde.	2 And he is the propitiation for our sinnes: and not for ours onely, but also for the sinnes of the whole world.

2:4	4 He that seith that he knowith God, and kepith not hise comaundementis, is a liere, and trewthe is not in hym.	4 He that saith i know him, and keepeth not his commandments is a liar, and the verity is not in him.	4 He that sayth I knowe him and kepeth not his commaundementes is a lyar and the veritie is not in him.	4 He that sayeth: I knowe him, and kepeth not his comaundemetes, is a lyar, and the trueth is not in him,	4 Hee that saith, I knowe him, and keepeth not his commandements, is a liar, and the trueth is not in him.	4 He that sayth I knowe hym, and kepeth not his commaundementes, is a lyer, and the veritie is not in hym:	4 He that saith, I knowe him, and keepeth not his commandements, is a lyer, and the trueth is not in him.
2:5	5 But the charite of God is perfit verili in hym, that kepith his word. In this thing we witen, that we ben in hym, if we ben perfit in hym.	5 Whosoever keepeth his word, in him is the love of God perfect in deed. And thereby know we that we are in him.	5 Whosoever kepeth his (worde) in him is the love of god parfect in dede. And therby knowe we that we are in him.	5 But who so kepeth his worde, in him is the loue of God perfecte in dede. Hereby knowe we, that we are in him.	5 But hee that keepeth his worde, in him is the loue of God perfect in deede: hereby wee knowe that ye are in him.	5 But who so kepeth his worde, in him is the loue of God perfect in deede. 2:6	6 He that seith, that he dwellith in hym, he owith for to walke, as he walkide.	6 He that saith he bideth in him, ought to walk even as he walked.	6 He that sayth he bydeth in him ought to walke even as he walked.	6 He yt sayeth he abydeth in him, oughte to walke euen as he walked.	6 He that saith he remaineth in him, ought euen so to walke, as he hath walked.	6 He that sayth he bydeth in him, ought to walke euen as he walked.	6 He that sayeth he abideth in him, ought himselfe also so to walke, euen as he walked.
2:7	7 Moost dere britheren, Y write to you, not a newe maundement, but the elde maundement, that ye hadden fro the bigynnyng. The elde maundement is the word, that ye herden.	7 ¶ Brethren i write no new commandment unto you: but that old commandment which ye heard from the beginning. 2:8	8 Eftsoone Y write to you a newe maundement, that is trewe bothe in hym and in you; for derknessis ben passid, and veri liyt schyneth now.	8 Again a new commandment i write unto you, a thing that is true in him, and also in you: for the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.	8 The olde comaundement is the worde which ye hearde from the begynnynge. Agayne a newe comaundement I write vnto you a thynge that is true in him and also in you: for the darknes is past and the true lyght now shyneth.	8 The olde comaundement is the worde, which ye haue herde from the begynnynge. I wryte vnto you lytell children how that ye have knowne the father.	13 I wryte vnto you fathers, how that ye haue knowne him which is from ye begynnynge. Y write to you, yonge men, for ye ben stronge, and the word of God dwellith in you, and ye han ouercomun the wickid.	14 i write unto you fathers, how that ye have known him that was from the beginning. i write unto you young men, how that ye are strong: and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome that wicked.	14 I wryte vnto you fathers how that ye have knowe him that was fro the begynnynge. I wryte vnto you youge men how that ye are stronge: and the worde of God abydeth in you and ye have overcome that wicked.	14 I haue wrytten vnto you fathers, how that ye haue knowne him, which is fro the begynnynge. 2:15	15 Nyle ye loue the world, ne tho thingis that ben in the world. If ony man loueth the world, the charite of the fader is not in hym.	15 ¶ See that ye love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the father is not in him.	15 Se that ye love not the worlde nether the thynges that are in the worlde. Yf eny man love the worlde the love of the father is not in him.	15 Se that ye loue not the worlde, nether ye thinges that are in the worlde. Yf eny man loue the worlde, the loue of the father is not in him:	15 Loue not this world, neither the things that are in this world. If any man loue this world, the loue of the Father is not in him.	15 See that ye loue not the worlde, neither the thynges that are in the worlde. 2:18	18 My litle sones, the laste our is; and as ye han herd, that antecrist cometh, now many antecristis ben maad; wherfor we witen, that it is the laste our.	18 ¶ Little children it is the last time, and as ye have heard how the Antichrist shall come: even now are there many Antichrists come already whereby we know that it is the last time.	18 Lytell children it is the last tyme and as ye have herde how that Antichrist shall come: even now are there many Antichristes come allredy. Wherby we knowe that it is the last tyme.	18 Litle children, it is the last houre, and (as ye haue herde that Antechrist shal come) euen now are there many become Antechristes allready: wherby we knowe, that it is ye last houre.	18 Litle children, it is the last time, and as ye haue heard that Antichrist shall come, euen now are there many Antichrists: whereby we know that it is the last time.	18 Litle chyldren, it is the last time, and as ye haue hearde howe that antichrist shall come, euen nowe are there many antichristes, whereby we knowe that it is the last tyme.	18 Little children, it is the last time: and as yee haue heard that Antichrist shall come, euen now are there many Antichrists, whereby wee know that it is the last time.
2:19	19 Thei wenten forth fro vs, but thei weren not of vs; for if thei hadden be of vs, thei hadden dwelte with vs; but that thei be knowun, that thei ben not of vs.	19 They went out from us but they were not of us. For if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us. 3:1	1 Se ye what maner charite the fadir yaf to vs, that we be named the sones of God, and ben hise sones. For this thing the world knewe not vs, for it knew not hym.	1 ¶ Behold what love the father hath shewed on us, that we should be called the sons of God. For this cause the world knoweth you not because it knoweth not him.	1 Beholde what love the father hath shewed on vs that we shuld be called the sonnes of god. 3:2	2 Moost dere britheren, now we ben the sones of God, and yit it apperide not, what we schulen be. We witen, that whanne he schal appere, we schulen be lijk hym, for we schulen se hym as he is.	2 Dearly beloved, now are we the sons of God, and yet it hath not appear what we shall be. But we know that when it shall appear, we shall be like him. For we shall see him as he is.	2 Derely beloved now are we ye sonnes of God and yet it dothe not appere what we shal be. But we knowe that when it shall appere we shal be lyke him. For we shall se him as he is.	2 Dearly beloued, we are now ye childre of God, and yet hath it not appeared what we shalbe. 3:14	14 We witen, that we ben translatid fro deeth to lijf, for we louen britheren. He that loueth not, dwellith in deth.	14 We know that we are translated from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother, abideth in death.	14 We knowe that we are translated from deeth vnto lyfe be cause we love the brethren. And ye know that no man slayer, hath eternal life abiding in him.	15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a man slear. And ye knowe that no man slear hath eternall lyfe abydinge in him.	15 Who soeuer hateth his brother, is a mansleyer. 3:21	21 Moost dere britheren, if oure herte repreueth not vs, we han trust to God;	21 Tenderly beloved, if our hearts condemn us not, then have we trust to God ward:	21 Beloved yf oure hertes condempne vs not then have we trust to god warde:	21 Dearly beloued, yf oure hert condemne vs not, then haue we a fre boldnes to God warde.	21 Beloued, if our heart condemne vs not, then haue we boldnes toward God.	21 Dearely beloued, yf our heart condempne vs not, then haue we boldnesse towarde God.	21 Beloued, if our heart condemne vs not, then haue wee confidence towards God.
